During installation, hold the torque arrestor in the extended position while tightening the upper pipe clamp. It’s vital to ensure that the collar is tightened to 60 in-lbs. This will prevent it from slipping when the pump is removed. If you have a shaft longer than 300 feet, we strongly recommend installing more than one shock absorber. The first torque arrestor should be positioned between 18″ and 24″ above the submersible pump. The other torque arrestor should then be placed at intervals of 75′ to 100′ above the first torque arrestor.

Important note: The fit must be tight enough so that the friction inside the casing does not become so great that it is difficult to insert into the casing.
