Boshart’s string-wound cartridges are designed for a wide range of filtering applications and are made from FDA-grade polypropylene. These cartridges are ideal for drinking water filtration. Ideal for removing very fine to very coarse sediments, at room temperature.

Cartridges are manufactured by diagonally winding a precise pattern of carefully selected fibers onto a central core. The pattern is designed to create hundreds of identical, tapering spiral passages. During winding, the fibers are combed through the passage and locked in place by successive layers.

Solid particles are removed by entrapment in this highly efficient filter medium. Filtration takes place throughout the cartridge, not just at the surface, so that large quantities of contaminants are trapped without a sudden increase in pressure caused by surface blinding. By varying the wind configuration, the cartridges are manufactured to give a predetermined value in microns.
